To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Red and the raccoon I have a 1/2 german shepard and 1/2 Irish setter. A good sized dog. He got in a fight one night a couple of weeks ago with a good sized raccoon. The raccoon tore a very small patch of skin off my dogs leg, down by his foot. Not a bite I don’t think, looked more like it was done with nails than teeth. Anyway, my dog has gotten very excited lately a couple of times and has scared my 7yr old granddaughter. Not aggressive so much as excited. He is very big and still a puppy. (He’ll be two this month). I got online and read up on the symptoms of rabies. He is not lethargic, and as I recall, I have had a problem every once in a while with him getting too excited to stay n the house. He is so big, he is hard for me to control. I love him to death. He seems to be a feircely loyal dog. And except for his constant running and being in a constant dirt cloud, he is a good dog. I think the excitedness is because he is still a pup. but my daughter mentioned the raccoon fight and thought he might be exhibiting signs of rabies Anyone have any thoughts? Thanx, Kris September 2008
