She was only 6 years old and came as a huge shock to me. When I got her (as a kitten), there was something about her that made me fel that I was lucky to have this blessing, and so I called her Seven. As it turned out, she was very special. Before I could have her spayed, she became pregnant, and gave birth to only one kitten. My vet who had been practicing for more than 25 years had never seen that! She had many adventures in her short life. She had gone out one day and didn’t come back for two entire weeks. I prayed to God to bring her back for my birthday…and the morning of my bday, there she was at my patio door. One evening during the summer, I had the back patio door open (screen and all) and a bird flew right in my house. I was freaked, but Seven jumped at least 4 feet in the air and caught it in her mouth. She then brought it outside and I quickly closed the screen door! Many months later, I had decided to move from Montreal to Calgary (almost across the country). Seven pulled one of her two week disappearance acts, and didn’t come home in time. I reluctantly left, leaving my patio door unlocked and my neighbors on the look out. About three days after I left, she came back. They put her in my house and called my mother to come pick her up. She flew all the way to Calgary by herself. A week before her passing, I noticed her breathing funny (abdominal breathing) and thought it was just a cold. She was sneezing and coughing. When it didn’t get better, I brought her to the vets. He told me that he would have to take xrays and would let me know. The results were to take her to emergency …I did so and they did an ultrasound. they found a huge tumor in her chest that had collapsed one of her lungs and was collapsing the other one. She had feline leukemia and had to be put down. It was the hardest thing I had ever done, but I couldn’t let her suffer. Shes in a better place now and forever in my heart. Comments
