We fell in love with him when we first saw him, and we knew he would be a good sibling for my cat Bronx (female). Dylan has quite an independent personality, and after quite a few months, he warmed up to us, and now loves us unconditionally. He especially favors me. He likes to sleep on my clothes and such. Well recently he started sneezing, coughing, losing weight, and stopped eating. So I looked it up, and it all pointed to F.I.P. So we took him to the vet, and sadly I was right. Steve and I cried a great deal while there. They asked us if we wanted to euthanize him while we were there, but we just had to spend some time with him so we could say good-bye. We have spent all weekend with him, loving him and taking pictures and video of him. His condition is deteriorating, and although he is not in pain, he is miserable. I would like for him to at least pass away at home with my partner, but I am going to have to get him euthanized. We are destroyed over it. I am getting ready to build a memorial for him. To anyone who has a baby with F.I.P, I send you my condolences. My advice to everyone is just spend alot of time with them. Hug them, kiss them, and hold them. As much as you may want to keep them alive, and with you, it really is best to let them go. If you could hear Dylan’s breathing, and see that sad look on his face, you would understand what I mean. I have been talking to anyone who will listen, and it is making me feel better, well as “better” as I can feel. Much love to you and your babies! Val Comments
