To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My Dollie She was a beautiful red and white bassethound. She worshipped us as much as we worshipped her. In november I noticed a little bump on her hip. Thinking she had bumped it, we waited to take her to the vets. When it didn’t go away, we got concerned. The vet did a needle biopsy, not liking what she saw. When that came back inconclusive they did a tissue biopsy. We got the heartbreaking news quickly, our precious pet had cancer. They did surgery to remove as much as they could but it wasn’t possible to remove it completely. It was a rapid growing cancer and we were told to take her home and enjoy what little time we had left. Merry Christmas. They expected her to only have 2 months. Great February, Happy Birthday to me. Dollie was so sweet . She never let us see her pain. March, April came and went, her lump was getting so big. How long do we wait? How can I ever take her to be put down? Our daughter’s wedding was May 27th. We prayed she would hold out until after the wedding. My daughter had Dollie home as an 8-week old puppy. She made it!! Monday I would call the vet to say we think our time has run out. She is not eating well, and is losing weight. How can I do this? I just want to die too! Sunday we went to clean up after the reception. Hurrying home to spend time with Dollie, I arrive to find she has died on her pet bed next to my chair. I will never forgive myself for her being alone. Maybe she wanted it that way. It’s been over a year now and we couldn’t stand the hole in our hearts. We now have a handsome young red and white bassethound pup named Henry P. Dawg. What a handful!! Comments
