Heart Broken Repeatedly
by: Adriane
on Wed, Jun 20 2007
This happened a few years ago but I thought I’d share my story. I had a big, gray tomcat named Jerry. He was very sweet and loving. Then their was Isabella (Izzy) she was a beautiful tiger striped cat. She had a litter of two kittens. A gray kitten we named Ash and a orange and white tabby named Blaze. At the time I also had Peaches an orange and white tabby he was from an earlier litter of Izzy’s.
Jerry went to a farm house miles away. I think it was because of the female cats there. The people at the farm didn’t take care of the cats. They didn’t feed them or take them to the vet because they were “farm” cats. When Jerry returned he brought leukemia with him. Little Ash who was shy and sweet was the first to be sick. His lungs filled with fluid and we had to put him down because he was in such misery. Blaze and Izzy went off into the woods and never returned. (I think they wanted to die peacefully, away from everyone).
Jerry wouldn’t eat and he was dwindling to nothing. I took him everywhere with me. I did everything I could to keep him happy and in hopes of him getting better. Sadly it killed him in a few days. Peaches was the only one to survive. It was one of the worst experiences of my life but I still think about them and know that they are somewhere better.

She was a beautiful red and white bassethound. She worshipped us as much as we worshipped her. In november I noticed a little bump on her hip. Thinking she had bumped it, we waited to take her to the vets. When it didn’t go away, we got concerned.

I waited 5 years for my cat. He was a beautifull ginger cat, Garfield. I cried for weeks and I still miss him a lot. Our dog (pitbull) and Garfield were best of friends. One can tell he misses garfield as well.
My life feels so empty without my cat….
