Just found out…

…that my partner’s cat has FeLV and is not doing well. He is not eating at all and we think it’s just a matter of a few days. Our question is, whether to let him die peacefully at home or putting him to sleep. Does anyone know what the cat is going through and what is the most loving, kind thing to do for him? I’ve never put a cat to sleep and the idea of having him die in a veterinary office v. at home where he is familiar with the sounds of birds etc. seems kinder. Any thoughts?

I was very pleased by the way my 19-year-old shepherd-coon hound mix passed on. Even with bad arthritis in her hip and some central nervous malfunction, she was a happy girl ’till the end. [more..]
