max - poison emergency

by: diane on Wed, Jun 06 2007

yesturday morning my 12 year old cat max was sat outside in my garden dribbling like mad. i thought he had been in a fight or frightened about something so we thought he would calm down and be ok. then he was twitching on one side of his face and growling alot and dribbling more. he wasnt himself at all.

anyway we got him to a vet. we were told it was some sort of poisoning and they would treat him we went to pick him up this morning and he was still a bit sedated but not out the woods so we took him to another vets and they have told us that all day his condition has not changed and hasnt got any worse and the blood test they did revealed some sort of brain chemical that should measure 200 is at 30000. so we still dont know whats wrong with him or if he will recover the vet will call me in morning to let me know his condition. i really dont want to make a horrible decision he is very loved and very precious and i think he is still quite young as i lost my oldest cat 4 weeks ago and he was 18.

so fingers crossed max will pull through.
