Help with effective flea control

Hi-this is the story of my daughter’s cat and a flea problem. From the beginning she has always used a flea control product with her pets -started with Frontline went to Advantage because her one cat, Charles, seems to be a flea magnet with no results from topicals. He is a healthy 1 in years but nothing works. She was using Frontline, changed to Advantage with the hopes of success. She has 3 cats and 2 dogs and the others do well, but Charles still seems to be a hotbed for fleas.

He has had checkups and physically appears very healthy with a nice, shiny, healthy coat, but she battled flea infestation all last summer. We would bath pets in Dawn, wait 24-36 hours to apply Advantage, treated home and yard every couple of weeks as directed. The other pets would be flea free but poor Charles would be crawling. We have asked our vet and the company that produces both Frontline and Advantage and all seemed stumped. It takes him being next to the other pets and his fleas getting on them to kill them. Do not know the source of where they come from, dogs are only ones to go out and yard is fenced, small and treated. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated as my daughter feels like screaming sometimes and as would I if I had that problem. I did feel that way at times before the tropical when there was just bathing and dipping as solutions. Thank you for your response.
