what is happening to my cat

I love my outside male cat. He is the cautious neighbor male cat with the most loving face. He comes around and is very loving to people he knows, like me and my daughter, but runs from those he doesn’t know.

He had a hole in the right side of his face. His skin was hanging down and over several weeks and months it healed then after a while returned healed and this happened several times. He cannot be caught to take to the vet so we just have to pray and watch over him.

He was not around for several days, which isn’t really unusual, and I came home t find him on my front porch. His wound on his face had healed and stayed healed for quite sometime so that wasn’t the problem.

His problem is that his face is swollen on both sides of his jaws especially. His eyes are runny and icky and almost swollen shut. He is extremely emaciated and not very strong. He meows with the sound of an allergy screech with effort. I don’t see him getting any better and I don’t want him to suffer. He tries to eat and will eat but with effort and he is very week. He is about 7 yrs old.

Can anyone possibly give me some insight as to what my be his problem? Anything would be helpful. I am afraid he is dying and I really love him. Thank you.

This is very sad…two summers ago two kittens, about 6 weeks, crawled under my fence and decided that I was their mom. I tried to find them homes but had no luck. [more..]

My 5 year old cat Rusty began to lose weight over the last few months; I thought maybe the neighborhood cats or strays were taking his food. [more..]
