Been there and am looking at it again

I feel your pain I’ve had to make that choice myself. Unfortunately I didn’t get that choice in November. The vet I took my precious Bandit to because of her health problems did all the proper tests and diagnosed her with asthma. Unfortunately even with the medication her breathing didn’t get any better and she still was losing weight. Early November she died in my arms. Yesterday I had to take her brother to the vet because of the same problem. This time I chose a different Vet and they found he has feline leukemia

I have to take him back in tomorrow and I’m afraid that I might have to make that choice the worst part is I have 4 more kitties at home all of them have grown up together. Loki the one who is going in this morning is the oldest, he is 9yrs old. Bandit was 7, their sister Pandora is also 7, so is Nikki, Orion and Quinn are 2. I can’t help wondering if the first vet had done her job and diagnosed Bandit properly if the what is now happening could have been prevented. They are like my children and it hurts so bad to know that maybe this didn’t have to happen if I had just chosen the right vet in the first place.
