The loss of Samson

Myself and my boyfriend Simon drove to London to pick up a gorgeous little boy British blue short-hair. I never liked the name Samson, but of course we had one cat already. i called her Ruby, so it was only fair he could choose.
We had a fantastic nine months with him but suddenly his mood became sullen. when you love your pets you pick up on things straight away. We rushed him to the vets only to find out he had feline leukemia
The vet gave him a few shots but something was niggling me, he didn’t seem to be getting the right treatment and i wasn’t happy with the vet in question.I began noticing a swelling around his abdomen area in panic i got him transferred to another vets.
I booked him in on the morning they did a scan there and then from which they told us he had FIP this is a really nasty infection coupled with leukemia.
I went to pick Samson up after a phonecall saying we can have him for the weekend for one last time. I have never felt so much pain inside, it made both myself and Simon really argue with each other, i agreed with euthanasia, he didnt. so after trying to make every last moment count he began to get violently sick. We couldn’t see our little baby in pain any more. We called the vet first thing sunday morning.
I suppose you know whats coming next. a real big void is missing in both mine and Simons heart there not just a cat, they are your babys. We both have Ruby left but after doing tests she may be a carrier of FIP all i can say is they will always be pain but it eases up in time. I know its silly i have his nail clippings and cuttings of hair also his ashes. If you do read this, from the bottom of my heart, treasure every moment dont let anger build up inside your baby. our babys wouldnt want that.
If it does get unbearable then talk to someone. it really is like losing a human being. never thought i would say that. im thinking of you all. There is no right or wrong way to feel. there are good days and bad it will ease i promise always in our hearts and heads but never forgotten.

Loads of love and kisses

Laura.
