Being a nurse I knew it was okay if moveable but then it was not moving. I took her to the vet and surgery was done. I had forgotten to ask what was going on I just knew it had to be taken care, now. Then at the end of August I noticed 3 small knots that were moveable, no redness she acted fine. Then one evening I was looking her over and noticed that the 3 knots were fused together and did not move. I later that week noticed that my sweet girl was not jumping around to go outside or not eating as she was. Then she would not go off the porch she had to be carried. Now mind you she was just eight years old. She also would make noises when she was lifted. I took her to the vet and he told me it was Breast Cancer. Wow, never thought I would have a dog to have breast cancer. Well the diagnosis was not good and I was told that her chances were bad. So I decided as hard as it was, to put her to sleep. The vet told me that if my old vet had told me to get her fixed or let her have a litter of puppies, this would have never happened. So I urge everyone to make sure that you spay or neuter your pets (family). It was so very hard to lose her and I was worried about her mother and how she would react to the absence of her pup.
