To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My little cat got FIP I had purchased a Savannah cat from a so called reputable breeder for $5000. After having the little guy for only 76 days, he was diagnosed with FIP He had slowly started to not eat as much after eating like a pig when I first got him. I took him to my Vet on Wed. a specialist on Thurs and had to have him put to sleep on Saturday. It was abosolutely devastating! He got so weak he couldnt get up and down off the couch or bed. I tried feeding him everything and he wouldn’t harldy eat a thing. He was just shy of 6 months and only weighed 5.1 lbs when he was put to sleep. An adult Savannah cat weighs between 20-35lbs! Once diagnosed there really isn’t much you can do except love them until the end, but its the most horrible thing I’ve ever had to through as a pet owner! May 2010
