To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Dave I just recently learned of this disease. I knew Dave didn’t feel good and he has always been outside and hard to catch. I told the vet how he acted and he said we could try worming him and see if that brought him around. When I got home with the pills I saw that he couldn’t walk very well so we caught him and took him in. He was diagnosed with FIP The doctor told me that they could try to save him but 95% of cats that get it die. He said that Dave wasn’t contagious at this stage. He probably got this when he was a kitten. He also said that he was paralyzed at the tail and it was progressing up the legs. He said that he could keep him comfortable and give him antibiotics but he would probably not make it. I have never had to choose for an animal to be put to sleep before. They always die on their own but I just couldn’t let him suffer knowing that he would not recover. This was just yesterday and I am still sick about it but in my heart I know that it was the best for him. Sweet dreams my sweet Dave. Mommy loves you April 2010
