I am at a cross roads. Bob is at least eight yrears old and I am now sure he has had fiv for quite some time. About a year ago I noticed his coat getting bad, losing its gloss, he wasn’t as quick on his feet and loss his desire to play,he was diagnosed diabetic. We wern’t perfect about the shots but got better and better at, he recently went through a very seroius infection and fiv wasn’t not diagnosed. He actullay on fluids and antibiotics made somewhat of a come back however he has just had another episode. Lethargy not eating and hiding.

He is very sick and I feel it is so hard to let him go but he is in no way th e cat he once was. Poking him with fluids three times a week and whots for diabetes twice a day so that he can live in the bathroom and rarely make it outside doens’t seem humane but I hate making the decision to let him go. Every now and then he comes up on the bed for a good rub but the days when he loved to wrap himself in my hair or play hide and seek up and down the hallway are long gone.

It is hard to admit defeat, I myself have an auto immune disorder.I do have other cats that need to be tested, I just hate to let him go but he isn’t all there anymore far from it and I hate that he seems to know it too.
