To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download I need advice on FIV About two weeks ago, someone drove past my house and litterally threw a cat out on my front lawn. I naturally started feeding him and giving him water. He looks about four to five years old, but I did not bring him into my house because I have a cat who is about 10 years old and does not get along with other cats. So yesterday I decided to take him to the vet and get him an exam, a combo test, and his vaccines. They came out and told me the bad news that he is FIV positive. I really do not know to much about it, except for what the vet told me. They told me that I had two choices: either put him down or bring him into your house and keep him completely seperated from my other cat. I cannot put an otherwise healthy cat down, and my house really is not big enough for me to seperate the cats fully. I really don’t know what to do. If I had my way, I’d be able to find him either a home that does not have other cats or someone who would take him in that already has a cat that has FIV Also if I do decide to keep him I need more information on the disease.
