Luna-kitty

by: Heather on Fri, Dec 14 2007

I got Luna-kitty from the humane society and they informed me at the time that he was FIV+. The original owner abandoned him and they found him feral- they assume he contracted while outside, probably from a fight. I wanted to take him even more. I had no other cats so there was no concern there. Even the sick kitties need homes.

So far he is happy and healthy; routine vet checkups and still asymptomatic. Hopefully he’ll be around for a few more years comfortably and should things for him get really bad, at least I gave an overlooked cat a good run. Normally I am against putting animals “down” but the research shows and the vet says that it is pretty bad once they hit Stage 3 (AIDS). Until then, warm house and lots of food and toys.

We took her to a vet in 1995 and was a female that was very malnourished and I was thinking that she was a teenage cat with a troubled life. She has been spayed and the Vet estimated her to be 3 to 5 years old at the time. [more..]
