To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living with a FIV cat I first got my cat in 1993, at about 6 weeks old, when my brother ran over her because she was sleeping in the street. Obviously she was unhurt so he brought her home. She had a bad cold, ear mites and ringworm. The vet tested her and it turned out she was FIV positive. He advised that I put her down due to her cold and said she would not get over it, but she was so happy I couldn’t do it. I knew she would get better and she did. I then had her tested again 3 years later and it also came back positive. They estimated she would only live another 5 years and she is now 14 years old and can still run and play. Her balance isn’t so good anymore but she does not seem to be in any pain. Comments
