toilet cat

I have a two year old kitty who has been known as the “toilet cat” for his entire life. Someone dropped him off at my workplace, in the bathroom, for someone to find him (me!). He was snotty and sick — full of worms, ear mites, conjunctiva, upper respiratory, the works! poor little kitty finally got better 2 months later when we got him home. He has had chronic wheezing, sneezing since then, and bouts of congestion and weepy eyes. He has had all his vaccinations.

Well now he’s a 10.5 lbs cat, who just recently got sick again. I brought him to the vet and without doing blood work, pretty much decided that he has the herpes virus. Right now he’s on an antibiotic, eye ointment for his conjunctiva, appetite stimulator/antihistamine, and lysine gel (which he does not like at all). I feel so bad for him because he looks so miserable but there is nothing i can do for him at this point. I hope within the week he looks and feels better, and we can finally get this virus under control. My toilet cat can never get a break!!
