Jazz and the Feline herpes virus

I have had Jazz since 2000, we got her as a retired breeder from a well known ragdoll breeder. She has had this respiratory symptoms with sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes etc since then. I thought it was from Louisiana allergies and none of the vets I have had have ever mentioned this virus as a possibility. She also had episodes of this breathy thing.. I thought it was what some referred to as a reverse sneeze… wrong… asthma .. It got worse as she got older. I just found out today after taking her to a new vet that he thinks she has the FHV -1. I am starting her on the lysine ( it is only an amino acid) I am hoping it will help relieve her syptoms. It won’t help the feline asthma but the other respiratory symptoms I hope wil improve.
