crucial ligament repair

by: hb on Tue, Nov 27 2007

hi , our 5 yr old westie has had crucial lig repair by the suture method, after about 3 weeks we noticed it didn,t seem right . we brought him back to the vet ,and the suture had loosened up,so he repaired it again.he has told us to take him for some walks about 10 days after ,to get him to use his leg,but by reading some posts on here i feel it is going to take some time for him to heal and use his leg,its been 3 weeks since 2 nd surgery and we dont feel he is using his leg to much ,is this normal, and when should we see him starting to improve his mobility ,we take him for short walks ,not very much ,and when do you think he would start putting weight on it,could use some help for a peace of mind ,we luv our westie
