Shadow and Aspen

We had aspen since january and he grew up to be a healthy dog. We got a friend for him about a month ago from the pound and named him shadow. They were such good puppys and always made us smile. ever since shadow arrived he was coughing and sick. We went from vet to vet and no one had a cure. We took him one more time and he was diagnosed with distemper but it was too late. He was sluggish and wouldnt walk and his nose and eyes were horrible even after we cleaned them.

The vet said they couldnt do anything else since he was only 2 months old, so we put him down, and we only did this because he was dying. Then a week later our loved puppy aspen started getting sick. He was also diagnosed with distemper He had a twitch in his head and wouldnt walk anywhere or eat anything or even drink water. We called the vet this morning because his head had become swollen and he started the “chewing gum fit” last night. the vet said he had no chance of survival. He was put to sleep this morning. I cant bear to see another dog get sick.

Words of advice: get your puppy all the shots they need and watch what kind of dog and the history of a dog when you get them from the pound. Aspen and Shadow are now happy and no longer in pain. some signs we saw in Shadow were the loss of appetite and runny nose and eyes. Aspen on the other hand lost his appetite, became immobile and had seizures. If you have any quesions just comment. I have learned alot from this experience.
