My Winston!

I have a beautiful and STRONG 3 1/2 month old british bull dog, he has only been in our family for 4 weeks.Bearing in mind from the first day i had him till now he never acted depressed and was always playing and wagging his tail as well as not having any loss in appetite. During the 2nd week i noticed his tummy was not so great and constantly had diorreah, so i took him to the vets who gave me some medicine to help his tummy get better.

Third week came along and still no positive signs as well as noticing a skin irritation so once again im back at the vets getting him more medication. 3rd week came along and STILL nothing was happening, but one night came, where he started constantly crying and whimpering all through out the night non stop and then his fits started. It was heart breaking and very scary. We took him to the vets immediatly and they ran some test ( not for DISTEMPER!! )and took blood.

They came back to us that night and said that they didnt find any infection in his blood and to come back 2 days later so they can draw more blood and send it off for more extensive testing, The next day i couldnt take the sadness any longer when i looked him in the eyes so i called the emergency vets and once i explained all of his symptoms they ran a distemper test straight away which came back positive.

Now he is staying in hospital for a few days to see if the medication they are giving him will take its course. So for me its a matter of waiting!! If anyone has any advice please let me know, i miss him so much already and i know he is a strong puppy and i just hope he can pull through this.
