Tug is sick

Tug is a 1-1/2 year old Queensland Heeler/Dingo cross and is displaying symptoms of Distemper He had conjunctivitis so I treated it and it cleared up, we had a Gerbil and the the Gerbil got sick just after the conjunctivitis hit and was dead within 3 days. Tug is lethargic and depressed doesn’t want to move much and is sore to the touch on his back and shoulders. He just ate a bowl of Alfredo noodles quite enthusiastically so appetite is good he also drank some milk. I haven’t seen him defecate yet so I don’t know about his stool. No Vomiting.

I have called 5 vets and only one seems to even know what Bush Border Smear is and they have to send it out and will take 3-5 days for results. I am unemployed and have no money for “foolishness and maybes” Nobody wants to let me actually speak to a vet I get their ” insert nasty expletive” Dumb*** secretary who tell you to bring the dog in the doctor won’t diagnose over the telephone. Talking to these people is like talking to the floor and less productive.

I have called around looking for Newcastle Disease Virus Vaccine (LaSorta strain) and no one carries it. The Vet supply place only shows a Poultry vaccine and won’t sell it to me because I am not a licensed vet. (It only comes in 1000 cc bottles)

I need some help! I live in Idaho where can I get this vaccine? I have enough experience with animals and medicine to treat him myself but I can’t find the freaking vaccine!

Daveyo if you read this please e mail me or call [moderator note: phone number has been removed]…[moderator note: e-mail address has been removed]

I have seen this before and it is rapid and ugly he is at least phase II. I need help.
