To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Jake - might have distemper We adopted our lab last week and have been told he might have distemper He wouldn’t eat or drink and was lethargic. The first vet (local to the shelter) told us it was a respiratory infection and gave us an antibiotic. He went a few days and got worse. I took him to a vet I trusted and he told us Jake had a 104 temp. Gave him 3 shots, antibiotic and cortisone to lower his fever. He was like a new dog by the end of the day. However, the vet suspects distemper He told me to bring Jake back on Friday without my children to discuss the matter. I too saw the homeopathic remedy online and saw Bani’s posting. Bani, could you write back and tell us what you used? I have no intention of putting Jake down. We are absolutely in love with him. He was kept on a chain outside for the first year of his life, the police were called to take him away because he was being abused. He has fly bites on his ears, mange on his face, but he is beautiful and even starting to really play with my kids - even though when he gets over excited, he goes into terrible coughing fits. I really want to save him! Even though he was an outside dog, he has only had one accident in the house, the first night - my fault. And after that, perfect. He is starting to love being in the house as much as being outdoors. Please write back and help Bani! Comments
