Poodle Growls When Time To Come In

by: Angie on Mon, Apr 09 2007

I have a toy poodle who is about 3 years old. In the past 2 years he has been exibiting this behavior. Usually, when I let him outside, he stays out anywhere from 4 minutes to 20 minutes. When I am getting ready to leave the house (after showering, make up, etc) I will let him outside 20 minutes before I have to leave. Most of the time he will not come in. I will have to go outside and get him. The first few times this had happened I reached down to pick him up and he growled at me. Now I’ll just tap him on the butt with my foot…just a little nudge….and he’ll growl. I started nudging him with my foot because I am not sure that he won’t bite me. I don’t think he would, just not taking any chances. Any ideas?
