To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Feline Calivirus On 01/14/08 my Dharma kitty was vaccinated with the basic 4-1. Shortly after she began limping, I took her back to my vet and he suggested that it may be the calicvirus, she was given fluids and recovered quickly. All my other cats are vaccinated, but they all got the virus. Baraka came down with the most severe case with mouth ulcers and drooling. Right away I did research about supportive treatments, I am really a proponet of complementary medicine. I highly recommend “Dr. Pictairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats”, I followed his protocol for treating this nasty virus that can manifest itself in a variety of ways and so far everyone is alive and well. Baraka seems to be recovering–I am administering Pediatric Electrolyte and a gruel, plus homeopathic remedies found in the above mentioned book. I am force feeding Baraka and Nico—the rest of the kitties are drinking and eating on their own, but I am monitering them. Its been about 17 days since exposure and I think everyone is going to make it. I have been using bleach diluted with water to disinfect dishes, my hands, etc…. I did not have a chance to quarantine anyone because by the time I realized what I was dealing with it was too late. I also gave my kitties Reiki attunements–so if you know anyone who does energy healing use that too. Good Luck, I hope this helps. February 2008
