To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Ligament Injury I have a 7 year old Pit-Bull that started limping on her left hind leg .I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with a torn acl. We were given two options surgery or care management.I opted for the surgery at any expense to help my dog.I scheduled the consultation with the surgern right away it was right around the 4th of July so I couldn`t get her in for 2-3 days. That night I did some research on the internet on Tplo surgery and after what I researched on the surgery cancelled my appointment the next day and decided to go with the care management. She was put on metacam and tramadol for pain.I had a special brace made to support both legs.It is a wonderful brace but she wouldn`t get up when it was put on her.She is not an active dog ,she is overweight so I didn`t put it on her as much she seemed to be doing quite well putting some weight on he leg walking short distances until I took er out to potty she has two small steps to get to the yard and when she was heading back to go in the house her front feet had dew on from the grass and her feet slipped and down she went down on both back legs .She now can not put any weight on either hind leg and can hardly get up or even stand. I had to pick her up to take her outside and she weighs 86 lbs.I immediately took her to vet on an emergency visit and to no avail she tore the other acl in the other leg.I would do anything for my dog but I have read so many horror stories about the TPLO surgery. I don`t know what I can do to help her?I would like to hear from people who opted for the surgery and the people who did the care management..Thank You ,Missy Comments
